When Stuart Broad came in to ball the 19th over, Yuvraj was on strike. Yuvraj hammered a hapless Broad for six sixes all around the ground.
Yuvraj played an innings of 58 runs off just 14 balls to guide India to 218 runs. England batted well but managed to reach only 200 runs in their 20 overs.
Talking to The Times of India on his achievement, Yuvraj said, âItâs been 10 years since the six sixes, itâs been a long time. I still feel just as young. Itâs been a long journey but the memory of that day is quite fresh in my heart. It was really a great day.â
âI was getting a lot of flak for not scoring enough runs before that in the tournament. Also, we had just lost badly in the World Cup a few months before that. We were not playing so well and we were a young team. We didnât have greats like Tendulkar, Dravid, or Ganguly on our side (for the World T20). It was a difficult time for Indian cricket, which made that moment even more special for meâ, he added.
